About Ben

He is a member of SCBWI and attends a local writers critique group and is a member of the local Spellbinders storytelling organization

His writing training includes:

• Writers Digest University with a story review by Alice Pope, editor of Children's Writer's & Illustrator's Market
• Picture Book Bootcamp taught by Lisa Wheeler, author
• The SCBWI Midsouth's Editor Day by Liz Waniewski, editor for Dial Books.

Ben tries to instill his stories with a sense of adventure and wonder. Many are based on events and adventures in his own life. He believes that stories should entertain, educate and, most of all, inspire.

He has five grandchildren that are a never ending source for story ideas.
